How to Keep White Towels Looking Fresh

White towels create a clean, calm look, but their appearance depends on consistent care. Follow the product label, sort thoughtfully, use laundry products as directed, and make sure towels are fully dry before storage.

Read the care label first

Materials and finishes vary, so the attached instructions should guide washing and drying. When the label differs from general advice, follow the label.

Keep problem items separate

Wash white towels away from strongly colored items. Separate them from garments with hardware or rough closures that could catch loops. Treat spots promptly using a method suitable for the care instructions.

Use products carefully

More detergent does not necessarily mean a cleaner towel. Measure according to the product and machine directions. Do not assume a whitening or bleaching product is appropriate.

Dry and store completely

Move towels out of the washer promptly, dry according to the label, and make sure they are fully dry before folding.
